Artist's Description
It is amazing how a once ugly stump grew back into a lovely bush producing these delicate flower clusters of violet. When we moved here, we had one twenty-foot-tall bush of lilacs. Each year I cut down the overgrowth until there were only a few slender branches. It looked awful, but patience paid off. The bush is lovely shaped and covered with blossoms. In the meantime, two volunteer white bushes grew in our backyard. This painting is my loose interpretation of my vase of lilacs. Sold
