My youngest grandson and his girlfriend gave me a bouquet of Dalias and other flowers for my October birthday. I took reference photos so I could paint the flowers later. On the 22nd of December, during the "Bomb cyclone," our home lost electricity for twenty-four hours, and when it came back on, the power company sent a power surge through our house. One fireball came through a surge protector in our grandson's bedroom. He put out the fire with a small amount of damage to his bare feet and an antique dresser. Unfortunately, that same surge took out our furnace. I cooked most of our Christmas Eve meal on the outdoor grill with temperatures in the teens, then our son and grandson loaded the dinner and gifts and took us to the farm. Seven days later, our furnace was repaired, and we finally returned home.
