Description
Five years ago, we moved from Colorado to Maine. The first summer our house yard was barren, even the grass struggled to grow. My Colorado yard was the results of thirty years of love, a beautiful English garden. I never planned to repeat the garden, but I chose some of my favorite flowers to plant here. This year with all the rain my peonies and iris are nearly a pretty as the ones I left. The first few seasons, I was disappointed that some of my peonies were not the fully ruffled variety, but this summer even the less complex are beautiful.
I painted this peony on Arches 140 lb. Cold-Pressed watercolor paper with Dr. Ph. Martin Hydrus Watercolors.
